At Smoky Mountain Troutfitters, we offer a wide variety of wading
opportunities in and around the Great Smoky Mountains National
Park. We can easily tailor a wading trip to fit your needs. If
you prefer the ability to jump from spot to spot, there are miles
of water within a short distance of the road. If you prefer to
travel to waters where other anglers seldom tread, there are countless
opportunities for back-country fishing as well.
You will need a valid Tennessee fishing license. This can be purchased
online from the TWRA. Click to Buy
A License. Snack and drinks are provided on all trips, and
lunch is included with your full-day package.
Due to safety concerns, and to ensure that every client receives
the proper amount of individual attention, we limit trips to 2
fishermen per guide. However, we maintain strong relationships
with other area guides, and we are quite happy to accommodate
larger groups of anglers.
Weekends, holidays, and other prime dates book quickly, so we
encourage weekday bookings when possible. Great Smoky Mountains
National Park can get crowded, so a little flexibility in your
scheduling can often yield a day with more options and a little
more solitude.

Smoky Mountain
Troutfitters is excited to add wading trips for smallmouth bass.
Smallmouth are very agressive surface feeders and lots of fun
with a fly rod! A nice change of pace for the trout fisherman.
The two rivers we fish for smallies are Little River and the Little
Pigeon. In addition to smallmouth there is chances to catch carp,
red eyed, bream and gar!

Half
Day Trips:
Our half day trips are approximately 4 hours in length and offer
the beginning angler a chance to "get their feet wet".
We will start the day with a casting lesson and introduction to
the sport of fly-fishing before moving to the river to put these
newly acquired skills to the test. To maximize our time on the water,
half day trips usually occur closer to the road-side stretches of
water, though experienced anglers may be able to range farther afield
despite the condensed time-frame.

Full Day Trips:
A full day trip last approximately 8 hours, and can offer the beginner
and experienced fisherman alike the ultimate in Smokies fishing. For
the beginner, the longer trip can offer you the opportunity to really
develop your skills and hopefully increase your level of success.
The longer trip can offer the experienced angler multiple options
such as a trip into the backcountry, or even a shot at the elusive
"Triple Crown" of Smoky Mountain Fishing - the chance to
catch a Brown Trout, a Rainbow, and a Brookie all in the same day. |
